Who we are

CAQA Coastline Seafood, aquaculture, fishing operations and seafood processing

Coastline Seafood is an integrated seafood business on the Eyre Peninsula that grows, catches, processes and sells fish and shellfish. It farms yellowtail kingfish in sea cages in the sheltered waters near Port Lincoln, grows Pacific oysters on intertidal leases at Coffin Bay, operates three licensed fishing vessels targeting western king prawns and southern rock lobster, and processes the harvest in an export accredited plant. Product is sold as whole fish, fillets, sashimi grade loins, live lobster and oysters to restaurants, wholesalers and supermarkets in Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney, and to export customers in Asia.

The business is organised into six divisions. The hatchery produces fingerlings in a recirculating system and supplies the sea farm, where farm hands work the cages by boat on a seven day roster. The fishing fleet works trips of two to five days in season. The processing plant runs a day shift and a harvest shift, and the cold chain and sales team runs the Wingfield distribution centre and the delivery fleet. Quality, safety and compliance sit with a small central team that supports every division and manages the relationship with regulators, auditors and customers.

Safe at sea and on shore

Nobody is hurt working for Coastline, whether on a cage, a deck, a filleting line or a truck.

Clean and cold

Hygiene and temperature control are never traded for speed, because seafood safety depends on both.

Sustainable

Stock, water, seabed and protected species are cared for so that the business can fish and farm for generations.

Traceable

Every fish, batch and carton can be traced from cage or catch to customer, and back again if something goes wrong.

What we do

Services and operations

To grow and catch premium Australian seafood safely and sustainably, and deliver it to customers in the condition it left the water.

Farmed yellowtail kingfish

Sea cage grown kingfish harvested to order, bled and chilled on the farm, and sold whole, as fillets or as sashimi grade loins to domestic and export customers.

Pacific oysters

Intertidal grown oysters from Coffin Bay leases, graded and packed live under the shellfish quality assurance program, delivered weekly to restaurants and wholesalers.

Wild caught prawns and rock lobster

Western king prawns and southern rock lobster landed by the Coastline fleet under quota, cooked and packed or held live for domestic and export sale.

Processing and value adding

Export accredited filleting, portioning, cooking, packing and blast freezing for Coastline product and for contract customers, with full batch traceability.

Cold chain distribution

Refrigerated storage and delivery from the Wingfield distribution centre to Adelaide customers and consolidated air and road freight to interstate and export markets.

Hatchery fingerlings

Yellowtail kingfish fingerlings produced in a recirculating hatchery and supplied to the Coastline sea farm and, in surplus years, to other licensed growers.
